We focus our work in three key areas, because nurturing the potential of kids, helping people live healthier, and supporting our neighbors are fundamental to strengthening communities.
Our nearly 4,000 staff and more than 5,500 volunteers are kids, parents, grandparents, neighbors and local leaders who are personally committed to understanding what our neighborhoods need. The holiday season is a time for giving and every year, our Holiday Toy Drive brings smiles to over 5,000 children. Often this is the only gift they will receive.
We hope that you’ll donate an unwrapped gift for a child, infant through age 17. The toys will largely benefit the youth from Border View, Copley, and Jackie Robinson Family YMCAs.
Please look for the gift wrapped donation boxes at nearly all YMCAs in San Diego County from November 15 - December 11, 2013.
Deeply rooted in your community, our movement is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life, all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income or background, has the opportunity to live life to its fullest.
Together, we can provide the help and support needed to bring our communities closer together. Happy Holidays!
At first glance, Hayley doesn’t appear any different than other Y Camp Counselors – her long pig-tails tied up with rubber bands, well-worn blue jeans covered in dust and a few fresh cut carrots shoved in the side of her boot – are all pretty commonplace at YMCA Overnight Camp Raintree…but there is something very special about this 21-year-old young lady.
